Our heritage
A former American Gladiator, “Viper”, his love for competition and training inspired him to start his own racing team in 2003, a place where athletes can realize their own goals and reach their highest potential.
Today, Full Throttle has emerged as one of the premiere triathlon training programs in the world, including 4x Team National Championships (‘07, ’08, ‘09, and ’10); 11x NYC Team Triathlon Championships; 13x South Beach / Miami Team Championships and numerous Northeast Regional Team Championships. The latest Full Throttle Team win was winning the 2021 Boston Triathlon Team Championship.
Full Throttle has also drawn some of the strongest sponsorships in endurance sports, including Pinarello, ROKA, Rudy Project and Chelsea Piers Fitness.

Scott has coached and been a part of winning 4x Team National Championships (‘07, ’08, ‘09, and ’10); 11x NYC Team Triathlon Championships; 13x South Beach / Miami Team Championships and numerous Northeast Regional Team Championships. The latest Full Throttle Team win was winning the 2021 Boston Triathlon Team Championship.
Besides being a nationally acclaimed coach, Berlinger also has many individual accomplishments, including the division wins and podiums around the country. Scott was named a top five coaches in America by Men’s Journal magazine.
As a USA Triathlon All-American triathlete and former American Gladiator, “Viper”, his love for competition and training inspired him to start his own racing team, a place where athletes can realize their own goals and reach their highest potential.

Ray joined Full Throttle as an athlete at inception and raced with the team from 2003 through 2010. He raced short course and gradually moved up to long course racing, including Ironman. In addition to triathlon, Ray has significant road racing experience, with 8 marathons and a personal best of 2:49 for the Boston Marathon. Post the 2010 season, he took a break from competition, to pursue other interest. In 2015 he returned to Full Throttle with a renewed passion for training and racing. In his first season back, Ray was ranked All American. In 2017, he qualified for ITU Worlds at the Draft-Legal Sprint Nationals and in 2018 Ray received All World Athlete ranking from IM.
Ray joined the Full Throttle coaching staff in 2016 after a 25 year career in fashion to explore his passion for endurance training and racing. Initially, he focused on beginner triathletes and progressed to developing and coaching long course athletes. He is also the lead run coach for the team. Ray is a USAT level II certified coach and Level III personal trainer at Chelsea Piers.
Ray looks forward to to pursuing his passion in guiding athletes in unleashing their performance potential.

In 1987 at the age of 25, John decided to try the new sport of triathlon and signed up for a beginner swim clinic. In the newbie lane, he met another young guy Bill Kelly there for the same reason. The rest is history.

In 2018 after many years away from sports, she was lured back by a friend into trying out for a triathlon team, Full Throttle Endurance, at her gym, Chelsea Piers. After two years on the team, she has podiumed almost every race she entered and has qualified in both years for National Championships in her age group for both the Olympic & Sprint races, but eventually decided not to compete due to her fitness level and Covid.
She is always working on improving and is patiently training with the hope of eventually qualifying for the World Championships and representing Team USA with her teammates.

Currently residing in Boulder, CO, she will be representing FTE in the West, but looks forward to racing with her East Coast teammates in Montauk and at USAT Nationals.




















Stacy also competes for Central Park Track Club and serves on the Board of the New York Road Runners. She was named the USATF New York Masters Athlete of the Month for December 2021 after winning her age group at the USATF Metropolitan 10K Championship. A longtime book editor, Stacy is now at Audible, where she acquires and edits material for audio publication. Her authors include Russell Brand, Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Bernstein, and Charlamagne tha God.
Stacy’s 2022 race calendar includes the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, the NYC Triathlon, USAT Triathlon AG Nationals in Milwaukee, the ITU World Aquathlon Age-Group Championships (location tbd), and the ITU World Triathlon Age-Group Championships, which will be held in Abu Dhabi.
